Additional information for Engine Identification
A question was asked about the front engine stamp (T0415JH) and the Protect-o-Plate Engine ID of (T0417JH). The following information is provided: - Engine casting date D149 (14 Apr 69) - Engien VIN# stamped next to oil filter reads 11N653402. In the stamping, the number :40: is within a small raised up circle cast in the block. If, the block had been decked to restamp another VIN# the raised up circle would have been decked off. NOTE! VIN on engine appears to be original. - Vehicle VIN last 5 are 53402. - After talking to Mr. Tom Clary (Yenko Club) his recommendation is to post the above information. The facts are: none of us were there to see the engine stamp. (Unknown, did the person not reset the date?) or at the dealers when the Protect-o-Plate was typed in by a salesperson. (Did he see a 5 instead of a 7?) to have just the 2 day disparity between pad stamp and Protect-o-Plate could be "Human error." Without doubt, the car, Protect-o-Plate and titles that accompany the care are a true L78. It's an exceptional, unmoleted true 396/375HP car. The car is available any time for inspection by any member to verify the above, or you can call me at 937-470-5970. |
