Cant see much in the tag pic. But the date having flaws, and the X77 being very pronounced, it definately raises a flag.
If the vin matches with the early august dated engine, its a tampered tag. The VIN will need to be in the 560xxx range or higher for the tag to have a X code. Adding X codes to tags that shouldnt have them isnt anything new. Another possibility could be its a late production car. But in that case, it would most likely have a D80 on the tag also. dave
