Default Re: Speaker re-coning

I bought a box of old used GM factory 4X6 Front & 6X9 Rear Delco speakers at a swapmeet here around 1993.The seller gave me the name of a man who could possibly recone them.I called that number & drove to the guys home.He walks me into a room you could sleep in & pulls out boxes of the Original cones, coils and other old world speaker parts..I was astonished at all the electrical components he had packratted in very liveable conditions.
I left him my box of speakers, and two weeks later he called me up to come get them.I was elated,as this was much sooner then promised.
He did incredible work as they all performed perfect and he charged quite reasonable for the time.I think it was $10.00 to recone a 6X9 speaker.I know this was 13 years ago,but I think he was in Elmwood Park area.
I will look for his phone number for you, once I finish my Cornflakes & Beer.
