Mark, As you already know, NastyZ28 is trying to poll owners with Z-87 interior AND D-55 consoles to confirm if Wood Grain Shift plates were installed, as they should of.
We understand that yours and Mike Steitz's Z-87/D-55 Camaros came with unexplainable Black shift plates. Until somebody comes up with a new theory, I have to believe it was a factory mistake......
