Let's say, conservatively, you put 50G's into a restoration on that car. How much is it worth then?

Regards, Mark Donnally [/ QUOTE ] Hard to say Mark... does not have the original motor but he says he has the P-o-P. I think that a frame off restored 1970 L-78 Camaro would be worth $60,000-$75,000. The only issue I have is that I have never seen a pristine condition L-78 Camaro sell. Either complete cars with NOM or complete project cars. Tough call.

I spoke with the owner at length today. He is a very nice man and honest at that. He is the original owner. He's got the P-o-P and some bank slips he just found. He asked where to find a build sheet so I told him. The car is priced just below $20,000.

The L78 shifter plate was discussed at NastyZ28 a while back. Chuck (CamarosRus) did a survey on this
and If I remember correctly the L78 w Deluxe had a Black plate and all of the other models had a wood grain. My car has the (727) Deluxe Interior with the original shift plate and it is Black. I will try to find the link for the survey that Chuck did. BTW, I agree Don; This car should have a 150 Speedometer. ![]()

1st Picture Showing Most Basic Interior W/O console and W/O Z-23 Interior Accent
![]() 2nd Picture Showing 130 MPH Speedo starting in 1972....so PLEASE explain the 130MPH Speedo in this car???? ALSO, Note 7000 Max tach, which CAN BE doctored up to appear as 6500 Red Line/7000 Max 1970 L-78 Tach (one year only) I have received private Email suggesting some of lower rpm yellow & red was removed ???....... and WHERE is the Tach Needle.....whats that all about???? ![]() 3rd Picture showing Z-87 Custom Interior car W/ Wood shift plate AND included Z-23 Dash and Shroud ![]() 4th Picture showing 70/71 Only with shift pattern Woodgrain Plate ![]() 5th Picture showing Mosport's 150 speedo which was correct in 70/71 ![]() Another issue that I cant verify. I have never seen those wheel covers used on a 70 SS Camaro. The plain jane 14x7 CL wheel came with Baby Moon Bowtie embossed caps.....and options included the Full Diameter wire wheel cover or rally wheels....all 14". I have only seen those inexpensive full wheel discs used on 14x6 wheels such as Mosports non SS 1970 Camaro.

Here is something that will add fuel to the fire...
Exhibit A: Tank sheet from my 1970 Camaro (well... half of it) ![]() The options described by Chuck in a pervious post. ![]() the wheel covers as denoted, "P01 DLX WHEEL COVER." So was this wheel cover standard or an option? Lastly... the wheels covers look classy... ![]()

After doing some research in my Chevrolet Illustrated Chassis and Body Catolog.....in Group 5.858 CAMARO wheel covers I see item 12 part # 3980992 which is what the EBAY Maroon (code 67 Classic Copper) has. 1st time I had seen this least expensive PO1 cap used on SS car, but evidently correct. THAT style PO1 was 1 year only as also used on Mosport's 70 L-65 Camaro. 71-73 PO1 cap (part# 3990555) was similar but no BowTie and had Chevrolet Motor Division center area ala 67 Camaro Rally Centers.....
