There have always been crooks out there, but the internet has helped them out even more.

I use a P.O. Box address and cell # for any given info.

Not to mention the satelite sites like terraserver.com. You can enter an address and get a satelite photo of the home and surrounding neigborhood. A thief could actually scope out your property from their desk without ever having to visit your home. Some sites have good enough images that you can see what type of car is in the driveway. Fortunately, many of them are older photos.
