Bruce - awesome shots!!! I was at Good guys too (my first, I am ashamed to say, after 4 yrs in the valley) - sorry I missed you. When I entered the gate to the function and peaked around the massive controversial tent I just could not believe the number of cars I saw in the vast valley before me. Mind BoGgLiNg!!! If you couldn't find a car you liked there- you just did not like cars. Altho primarily (9.5:1) a hot rod show, due to the shear volume of cars there, it left an awful lot of stock muscle too. There were some absolutely beautiful rods there with unbelievable attention to detail, innovation, and damn good looks. There were some diamonds in the ruff too. I had seen a 68 Hemi RR early in the day with a horrid silver paint (according to tag was B5 blue originally) but had the hemi motor, a 4 spd, and a dana rear. I made a mental note to come back later to meet the owner. At the end of the day I caught up to the owner and what a story. He has had it for about a year and bot it from his neighbor, the original owner - he had been wearing the guy down for TWENTY years. The car is all there, including original drive train AND is documented out the whazzo. He even has the cancelled check for the payment of the car. Car is ruff looking but is very rust free. Black bucket interior, dog dish, dana 3.54 rear, hemi 4 speed, both original carbs, etc. He has been collecting parts and wanted to take it to one last show before starting the rotissiere resto. I got a nice ride in it back to my car and she still had her punch. He said he plans to have it done by this time next year.

Oh, and one last thing.... he bot it for $10,000.00

P.S. saw the Chip Foose Camaro and she looked real nice. I like that he didn't mess with the quintisential sweet looks of the Camaro. He merely tastefully embellished them. One note - was not impressed with some pin striping on the the rear deck.

P.S.S The black 409 Belair (Best of show award) was absolutely STUNNING. The paint was other-wordly.....took my breath away.

Sam,

I KNOW that this is the car you're talking about. He's always at the Union Hills and 83rd Ave. cruise...

D A M N Bruce!!! I can see that you tapped into your archives for that one because that was not from the Good Guys show. I had seen his car at the Cruise on Central before too. Ain't that a sweet shot?

He has the original red line + wheel in the trunk too.
