Don, did the POP have the "A" "B" or "C" at the end of the trans code designating an M-20, 21, or 22? That is what I think is unusual about this particular POP.

[/ QUOTE ]
The POP tranny code was correct for the M-20 in the car. The car was a SS-350 and had "C" for carb code, rather than "R", that was what I was questioning.

Sorry to drag another question into all this but I have a growing interest in 70Z's I guess......am wondering if the black stripes on this car would be the correct color for this particular car. I looked at the buildsheet but couldn't see anything although not all of the buildsheet is exposed in the pictures. I'm assuming you could get black or white stripes for this blue on blue color combo. Thanks.

Ad says "special ordered with the black stripe instead of the white stripe".

Understand, but the ad infers the black stripes came with the special Hurst package which COPO427 indicates in an earlier post that no such package exists....plus I don't believe everything just because it is in an ad. Just trying to find out how one verifies this as some data indicates that Norwood built Z's for this year would show stripe colors by their paint code #'s on the trim tag but that Van Nuys built cars did not. Has to be some means that would prove the stripe color I would think. 1970 Chevelle buildsheet would show the stripe color on the buildsheet in one of the boxes (forget which # box). I'm sure the black stripes are probably correct for this car but was just curious how to determine.
