Did you notice the labor rate on the repair orders ? $6.00 an hour. Looks like it got a rear end and engine rebuild under warranty. That is the same flat rate we had at the Pontiac dealer I worked for in 1966.

Jim's book talks about a kid approaching them w/the song. They produced it w/studio musicians and it became somewhat of a hit. Then they had to "assemble" the band Johnny Bravo-style.
