What is Considered a Day 2 Car?

My buddy's uncle owned A&D Auto Wrecking alongside the SF bay in Richmond, CA. Back in the late-70s and early-80s we would go down there on Saturdays and just get lost back in there. There were 1,000's of cars, mostly '60s and '70s stuff, but a few '50s cars too and NO IMPORTS! It was better than Disneyland. I got my first 327 from there (to rebuild for my '67 Camaro) and his uncle gave it to me for free. The place closed in the early '90s--EPA got'em. I miss that place. It was like being Huck Finn messing around the back 40 of that huge yard.

Oh, and Belair, there was a cherry '61 bubbletop 348/tri-power/manual car just sitting there once, way out in back. I was 15 (1977) and I flipped. The air cleaner was in the trunk as were the wheelcovers. It was baby blue and dusty but straight. My buddy said that his uncle might take $1200 for it but I didn't have that kind of cash. "Besides," my buddy said, "you don't want that, you want a Chevelle or a Camaro. That 348's a boat anchor." Boo-hoo.
