Hmmm, it lists the headers(loose). Does that mean the car was sold with the stocke exhaust manifolds and smog? And the buyer had to intsall headers and connect the exhaust? Cool paperwork. Did any of the supercar dealers sell cars with headers installed or was that illegal?

Cars were delivered from Baldwin Chevrolet to Motion with stock exhaust and smog intact--Headers were installed at Motion.....

So this is considered a Baldwin-Motion Camaro yes?
Is this how the papers looked,or were there receipts from Motion Performance as well?
I have never seen paperwork on them,so I am asking.

That's the Baldwin Chev. invoice Rick showing the car as being sold new---there is even a trade-in involved, so he had to go thru Baldwin--The options are listed on the invoice. If you went thru Motion you would get documentation on PhaseIII's--. The other cars that had some mods or just an engine conversion would have gotten a work order. This would be a B/M Camaro.

There's a link in the first message of this thread... follow that to see a picture of it in a magazine ad.

Also is this area of the forum there has been one or 2 threads already about this car from back in the day.

Seems strange that if the owner is here on the board that he doesn't ever speak up when the subject arises... I guess he likes to keep it on the down-low

Very cool car!

A good friend of mine raced pro stock back in the early 70's and cut up an original Baldwin Motion car to do it,but the car still exists today, and is reported to be in a garage in central Jersey. The car was stolen off the Bladwin Chevy lot back in 1969,and later recovered with no drivetrain and many other parts missing. My friend bought the car as a stolen recovery with salvage papers back in 1969 and fitted it with the powertrain out of his A/MP 67 camaro, and added a glass nose, and had his racing partner drive it for a few seasons in Pro Stock.I even found his car listed in the NHRA list of Fastest prostockers of all time which I belive was for a MPH record. The car had a patriotic red white and blue paint scheme on it and was named "Born Free",and had the neame Neighborhood Garage on the rear 1/4's.The car wasnt a tube car and from what I could make of the pictures had most of the stock floors, and stock front subframe,so who knows, maybe it could be restored by an ambitous restorer.I wonder what Joel would do if somebody wanted to document it.
