Default Re: CAROLINA BLUE PAINT CODE?????

I found my Fisher book and it does not show a code as you have stated. The closest code I can find is #293B used in 1987 as Silver.
I called a few who have Lacquer under their finger nails & all said they too can not find that code. Not in Chrysler-Ford or AMC paint books too. Most believe it is an in house reference no. to paperwork supporting the color change.
I agree, especially after reading the current "Chevy Rumble" Magazine.
In it,they Feature a 1970 SS Chevelle, built in Canada, but with Special Order Monaco Orange paint. On the cowl Tag is stamped SP4644,as well as 4644 written w/chalk on its firewall.
They too reference this no. to mean in house paperwork, supporting the color change.
Even though in 1970,a Monaco Orange Cowl tag code was --,some plants did their own thing, and went against the recommended way of doing things.
Your Baltimore 1968 is most likely the same.
