Default Re: 1969 Ebay Z28

Color is way off for sure. Actually, I kind of like the 68 door trim... but not on a car that is supposedly "correct". I also don't like the style trim options put on an X77 car. But then, it's the owner's prerogative to do what he wants to it. He could tub it for that matter, but then it isn't "correct" is it? Doesn't it bother you when guys list a "matching number" car without including all the date and number info. For instance, 3 full months ahead of time seems pretty long for the engine assy date. Would like to know if partial VIN is stamped by oil filter. What are the casting numbers and date codes on the axle? Still have correct gearing? Gives a lot of casting numbers without giving dates for heads, distributor, carb, etc. He obviously knows about VIN stamps because he mentions the one on the trans. As you are well aware, that stuff can be maddening, not to mention expensive, to make right.

Easy to nit pick from here, I know. Would hate to put my car on ebay and then watch you guys rip it to shreads, but then again, maybe you wouldn't. I am still in awe of these prices. Maybe because I bought my Z/28 in 1976 for $900. Actully traded a 1970 Opel Rallye for it, but figure that is what the Opel was worth.
