Yeah, that's the car from St. Louis. It was originally built by Hollie Swindahl(sic). He was well known as owner/builder/driver of the Backup Pickup in the sixties. It was an early Ford truck exhibition vehicle similar to Maverick's Little Red Wagon, only it wheelied backwards down the dragstrip! He still owns it to this day. Back to the Biscayne, a friend of mine owned it back in the seventies and then it was passed around quite a bit around the area. He said it was quite a rough ride but it would go on the back bumper at will.

I sold the Chevelle several months back. It was a modern project car that never got very far along. I was searching for a real car with race history and ended up buying the ex-Braun Bros. 1955 Chevy C/Gasser last summer. Straight axle, magnesium 5-spokes, and lots of engine setback.

Yeah I know, not really a supercar but still a load of fun to drive on the street. This car was raced by the Braun Bros. with a Hilborn injected 301 from 1964-67 then stored for many years. It has the original magnesium wheels put on in 1964, Kellison Car Co. 'glass tilt nose and doors, 57 Olds rear, lots of engine setback and a tranverse spring straight axle up front. I'm currently trying to shove a really nasty rat motor and 4 speed in it. Really tight with the motor next to your legs!

The more I look at the Biscayne...it looks like it needed a tad less rear altering and maybe a pinch of front to look more "even"...that sure is a lot of overhang un the back !
