Re: 1970 COPO Nova windiow stickers
What findings? My records are always up to date, what would you like to know?? There are 3 Scuncio Deuces found, one is original owner, the red car is not found vin# 351102, 4sp, no p/s, stock #YS-040.
Ed, I only know of 5 scuncio deuces, what is the 6th one?

Re: 1970 COPO Nova windiow stickers
Marlin what I have been curious about is what happened to the original COPO Nova window stickers? Has one ever surfaced?

Re: 1970 COPO Nova windiow stickers
I see! I never did come back with my lost response eh? The short answer is no, there are no original GM window stickers found for the deuces - delivery check sheets, etc... are found but never an original window sticker. It is believed that Don's crew pulled them, as the general rule is that GM affixed them for delivery. It is strange that we wouldn't find one from one of the 50 deuces that went to Hurst, but we have not.
The consensus is that Don did not want anyone to know that GM did this combo as a double copo too, and made sure that nothing from GM went with the car. The YENKO window stickers have the final assy point as 'Canonsburg, PA'!

"The consensus is that Don did not want anyone to know that GM did this combo as a double copo too, and made sure that nothing from GM went with the car."
Do you think the 1969 Jack Douglass Camaro situation was the reasoning for this train of thought even more so for the 1970 Deuces,or was this always Dons way of thinking? |

Re: 1970 COPO Nova windiow stickers
I believe it was always Don's thinking, because the only GM window stickers found for the '69 cars were in Don's files - not on the cars.
I would speculate that he was extra cautious in '70 - primarily since the deuces were delivered so late compared to the '69's. Don ordered the '69's in November, and received the first 50 in late Jan early Feb, another 100 or so in March. Conversely, Don ordered the '70's in early December but did not receive a deuce until June! So, in order to move that many copo cars in so few months, I would speculate that he kept the origin as hidden as possible.

Re: 1970 COPO Nova windiow stickers
The sixth Deuce from Scuncio is Blue, auto with P/S. The original owner has pasted away. I'm doing a title search on that car now. The red(vin#351102) car is not found,I did a title search on that car as well as the blue(vin #351986) one came up with nothing. The blue car(vin#351986) was at a salvage yard here in RI back in 1974. It was hit in the nose and sold to someone in late 1974. The car could have been used as parts or was fixed, from what I was told it just needed front sheet metal. Bob Johnson from Scuncio wanted to order a few COPO Novas from GM after he got the yenko cars. He found a broadcast sheet under the rear seat of one of the blue cars with the COPO #'s on it,but it was to late to order the cars from GM. Ed

Re: 1970 COPO Nova windiow stickers
That makes sense that the 6th car is an a/t w/ p/s - we have very few inventory sheets for deuces so equipped.
