Oh My God its Glacier Blue! I Love Glacier Blue on a 69 Chevelle. When the Car is restored to the nines, nothing can touch it,IMO. ST 69=Year 13637=Malibu Body Style Atl=Atlanta Lakewood Plant 209472=Body Number TR 756=Black Vinyl Bucket seats 53=Glacier Blue Paint LB=Lakewood internal code 01D=assembled Jan.4th week T=Tonawanda 0312=March 12/1969 when engine was a running unit. JD=L78 396/375HP (It should be a J,not the letter I) Look for the last 6 digits of the Chevelles VIN# to be after the JD code on the engine block. This would normally mean a Numbers matching engine.Give or take. Your Pictures do not show much, again without knowing more,$20-$25K max in current condition. Is there a Buildsheet,Protecto-Plate,Window sticker, dealer invoice? James If you are not interestd in this Chevelle,I am.... Rick |

It doesn't sound like it is the Original engine, but waiting to hear what James or the Dealers explanation for this is. Check for a VIN# possibly down by the Oil filter too,for whatever car this is out of. |

The dealer doesn't have any documentation on the car. I couldn't read the rest of the numbers on the engine pad. The car is about 300 miles from where I live. I will be back in the area next week and plan to check the car a little closer. Other than checking to see if the numbers on the engine pad match the vin number, what else should I look for? I just recently got back into the muscle car scene. I was into Chevelles back in the 70s and early 80s. Back then everyone didn't worry about numbers matching. James
