In 1970 when the upgrade RPO ZL-2,working Flapper Cowl Ind.Hood, was ordered the SS Chevelle got mandatory RPO D88 Hood & Deck Stripes.
If he wanted them removed,he would request,"Stripe Delete". If just the Standard SS Package Bulge Hood was ordered, like this Chevelle is,then No Stripes were recieved from the Factory. It looks like someone added white Stripes on it now when they repainted. The customer could request that RPO D88 stripes to be put on his Std. SS Bulge hood, for an extra cost either from the factory, then showing RPO D88 on the buildsheet,or later at the Dealership, that not showing RPO D88 on the buildsheet. Rick |
