Default Re: Z/28 coil

I was trying to find out about the correct coil my '68.
From what I have been able to tell the 270 coil is for cowl induction '69 z's while the non cowl cars recieved the 298 coil. The 298 coil is what came with '68 z's also,
I have been told that some '68's came with a 293 coil maybe due to part shortages?
The z28 as well as all special high performance engine coils came with the ability to discharge & recover at a faster rate than a standard coil. I believe they call these high speed coils.
The 293 coil came with all standard small & big block V8 engines. I'd love to hear other opinions about this
