http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33615 Here is what the seller said GM only made 200 and they were only available to select dealers, each one has a serial number machined into the valve cover, it is also has an aluminum block. These engines were snatched up fast by collectors and their are very few available, I only know of three. This is priced about $250 less then going rate. I sell allot of the lower priced crate engines, like the ZZ4, this a one time offer and is for someone who has gone all out on their vehicle, having a limited edition engine can add the overall appeal. Are you interested please feel free to ask me more questions |

Honest opinion? I hate to turn this into a "bashing" thread, but it looks to me like you're only paying for the ZL-1 name. I mean, 10:1 compression and only 510hp? Not even 500lb-ft of torque? I realize it's a limited production unit, but the new 572 is what the ZL-1 SHOULD HAVE BEEN, which was the "baddest of the bad". I know of a certain pure stock ZL-1 that is putting out power numbers not too far off of that, except it's doing it through the stock Camaro exhaust manifolds...and no fuel injection. Sadly, it falls short (performance-wise) of what I personally expect from a ZL-1...

That is kinda what I was thinking as well that the motor was pretty basic and nothing specaial. He sure has a high reserve on that Motor

That's an awful lotta coin for a little bit of motor. These days you can buy alot of different mega cube full race motors for less than $20K, and they'll make upwards of 1000 hp!!!! I'd be willing to bet you could get that kind of power from a naturally aspirated LS-6. Doesn't seem like a real hot ticket IMO.

I'd be willing to bet you could get that kind of power from a naturally aspirated LS-6. [/ QUOTE ] You could EASILY get that kind of power from an LS-6 (either the 1970 or the 2003 version!). I'd say the Pure Stock LS-6 cars are not too far off that number, and they are running through the stock exhaust manifolds... |

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=88961499 You could even get S/N 001 if you want it. Still a lot of cash for an engine. |
