Default Re: '68 Blue Nickey, still in Seattle area? from 84/85

It was the 12 mile Red 67 L88 from Lincoln Auto salvage that Burroughs and a partner now have. There were several other owners prior to them getting it. It sold new from Alan Green chevrolet here in Seattle. The first purchaser of the L88 brought it home on a trailer, then disassembled it to modify for full race purpose, doing crazy things like painting the chasis white. Then lost interest in it, and the car sat for four years in pieces in his garage, at which time he sold the original L88 motor. Later Lincoln Auto salvage finally bought this L88 Vette and re-assembled it with a different 427. They sold it for something like $8,600.

It was interesting several years ago to see this 12 mile L88 Vette that was once in pieces, chasis painted white, missing its original motor, get bid up to $750,000 at auction and not meet reserve.

The Gottlieb raced L88 Vette was a different one Burroughs was involved with, from somewhere else.
