I understand your idea that the engine block was cast in May of 69 and assembled in June 69 .... as a early NOVA CTY L-78/T-400 engine....but would somebody in the know say something about that "W"(Nova) vin # ....sounds too HIGH to have a EARLY engine........??????????

For what it's worth, my '70 SS 396/350hp has a build date in the Sept/Oct '69 timeframe. My vin is a 10W144xxx. The 10W3xxxxx definately is a later production. I've also had some '70's built in June and they were around that numbering sequence.
