Default Re: 1970 L-34 Open Element Air Cleaner (your opinion)

Here's my latest "opinion" on the 1970 L-34 Air Cleaner......I just talked to my L-78 seller (I'm the new owner) and he states that the 70 L-34 Air Cleaner base is the SAME as earlier ones except for the length and angle of the breather tube.....so if somebody out there had a 69 or older L-34 base for sale I could remove the tube and fabricate a new copy of the 70 style breather tube using my dual snorkel as a sample....or should I just buy a reproduction and modify it, at least it would have a "nice" lid.......are all the misc repops the same or is someones better?????.....ALSO I believe that ALL the 1970 Camaro L-78's (which were only produced after Jan 1, 1970 when new EPA laws mandated that the engine not be as noisy as with open element L-78 engines) came with the Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner......the assy manual only shows the dual snorkel......thanks, Chuck
