Default Re: 68 BB Nova SS facts needed

You asked about tach redlines.....

Novas with the factory tach in the dash were typically set-up with one of the three combinations. There were actually three different (yellow line/red line location) tachs used.

A small block has the redline at 5,000 rpm.
A 396/350hp car has the redline at 5,500 rpm.
A 396/375hp car has the redline at 6,000 rpm.

I currently own a '70 Nova SS 396/350hp with a factory tach. Its redline is at 5,500 rpm.

I hope this helps.
