I have always thought these housings looked cool...not sure how they are different from other styles. Anyway, I would like to use one on our 70 L78 TH400 car...it has a 69 style 163 now. The photo attached is from a 68 Camaro...should fit the same.
Any thoughts on sourcing housing, bolts and I assume a different radiator hose. Thanks, wilma

I love those thermostat housings also and like to use them. Keep in mind that L88’s also used a spacer underneath them. I think this was for clearance for the upper radiator hose on Corvette short water pump applications with left side alternators. Here’s mine in an off-topic car with a me-fabricated spacer that’s a little thicker than a factory spacer because I added a temperature gauge NPT port in the back side of it. These particular T-stat housings were always cast iron but I actually bought an aluminum version from Rockauto, believe it or not! It’s on a shelf around somewhere because it’s not exactly the nicest casting but it is interesting. If I can find it later I’ll post a photo.

Thanks for the photo...based on the image I posted of the 68 Camaro it doesn't look like a spacer will be needed. Did some research online and the shape of the hose looks like a 68 Z28 upper hose. There are some housings online and the bolts. Would like to confirm the hose if possible and get all the pieces.
Appreciate the help... -wilma
