Dick Harrell built a fan base as a driver, tuner, and his showmanship. Wheel stands, such as the one pictured, sometimes caused crashes? “Retribution” wasn’t exempt from this?

After the crash, Harrell borrowed another Chevy11 from Jim Kirby to fulfill the commitments he had scheduled for awaiting match racing. The borrowed car was known as “Sad Sack.”
