This LeMans Blue 69 Camaro COPO was sold new at Golden Mile Motors in Scarborough ON to Tom Hurst. This is a 21K mile car that still has its original drivetrain. I previously saw this car at the big Labor Day Auction in Auburn IN back in '11. This car was just completely restored and finished days before the show. Jim Romag had this car at the show for Camaro Legends Judging.

This Silver 73 Z/28 Type LT was brought to the show by Marcus Blackstone. When the Type LT option was ordered on the Z/28 the Z/28 emblems were replaced with the Type LT emblems.

This 41 Willys was brought to the show by Ryan Snyder. It had a blown big block in it.

This Burgundy Mist 70 Buick GS Stage 1 is a 4-speed car with A/C. Eric Taylor had this car at the show in the Class of 1970 Buick GS Invitational. They had pretty much every color of hardtop and convertible there parked back-to-back by color. There wasn't a matching convertible for this car though.

I called and emailed them (the owner through his business, as well as his "car handler") and left several messages in 2015 to try to get it to the 2015 Z16 reunion, but they never replied. I was not initially in charge of assembling this year's display, until I found out in very late August that the person who was in charge had only gotten 2 cars signed up. I got the other 7 (plus my two and another yellow car that did not end up being able to come) and the COPO signed up between then and the registration deadline, so I focused on those that I thought I had the best chance of getting signed up on short notice. Bob knows the owner and said he would try to contact them to see if they would bring it, but apparently he didn't have any more luck than I did in 2015.

This car was completely restored by a prior owner in 1989. I got it in 2020, but I just got around to getting most of the under-hood re-restored and "corrected" this past spring. Still have a few items to address there, including repainting the core support and putting an older production NOS grill in it (the one in it now is quite rough on the bottom bar). Also need to install the Gardner exhaust that arrived a couple weeks ago, and the correct window sweeps, and nice Legendary door panels to get rid of the puffy PUI panels that are in it now. But on a bright note, every piece of trim inside and out, including bumpers, AND including the 3 Z16 trim pieces on the rear, were NOS when the car was done in 89, so all that is outstanding (except the grill).

The Red roughian I had in the barn finds display has a red interior, and is towards the back of the line for its restoration, as it will be a monumental undertaking. I do hope to have the yellow / black top / black gut car that was in barn finds a different year finished and there next year. (But I hoped the same for this year too, so .... we'll see!)

I think we street raced against that blue 1969 COPO Camaro. WE raced a blue FACTORY 427 camaro out of Weston and Finch with a '73 454 Corvette. We beat the COPO pretty good that night.
