Thanks for posting the pic of one of my two Z16s I had at the show!! I sure do wish it is was the #1 prototype car, but it is not. It is one of the 200 "production" cars built at the KC plant. Same colors though! And it is one of the very few cars still alive with its original born-with L37 (IX code) engine (as is the other car I brought).

This Regal Red 65 Malibu SS Z16 is #1 of 201 built. It came down the line in Baltimore in December of '64 as I believe an SS 327 before being shipped to the Engineering Department to be transformed into a Z16. The other 200 Z16's were all built in Kansas City. The original owner of this car was Tim Hunke. Dave Miner restored this car and had it at the Chevy Vette Fest back in '05 along with 2 other Z16's he owned. Jeff Helms had this car at the show in the Class of 1965 Z16 Invitational.
