If you get the sticker removed,I wouldn't recommend using anything oil based to try to remove the residue,(if there is any),as it will soak in & stain that exact spot on the soft cardboard and then be darker.
Rubbing Alcohol on a Q-tip is all I would try to see if it removes the residue,if not leave it be.
