Default '69 SC/Rambler Project, Stored for Decades

What a cool and clean project car this is...don't see many of these in project form that aren't complete basket cases.

Cool car
Looks correct. Something is up with the interior. Trim code should be 941D(on closer exam it looks like it is) and those seats aren’t the right covering. But they might’ve been swapped out at some point.
Shifter handle is wrong, meaning the shifter is also wrong. That’s a 750 dollar shifter to find. I know, I just bought one.
I’d like to see better pictures of the engine just to verify it is a 390. It’s cast right in the side of the block but all AMC V8’s are the same size so that could be a 290, 343 or 390 from those pictures.
The 1-2,000 dollar ST635 tach is missing. Thats sad.
There’s a very important date stamped into the underside of the trunk lid that should correspond with the E body number for the date the body was completed. Then it would’ve went to the main plant for assembly.
I’d also like to see the valve cover tag, though I doubt it’s original to the engine it’s currently sitting on.
It’s worth about 50%(or less) of that asking price. Someone would be a lunatic to pay 20k for that car. Even at 10 you’ll be so far underwater on a restoration you won’t even be able to see the surface when you’re done. It’s the curse of AMC.

Good perspective. For as long as I can remember, the AMCs have been underpriced (or undervalued) compared to other makes. Even the low production hi-po stuff....
