Default What is it?

My son sent me this last evening asking me what I could tell him about it. We'll, obviously small block Chevy with 2 bolt mains. I wasn't smart enough to look past that. It's in a shop in the Kansas City area that he uses for machining needs. He thought it was possibly for use in its original car
Anybody see the 2 missing clues and what else might I be missing?

Loren

Yes, as soon as he told me it was a 55 block I noticed those 2 missing items. Is there any difference between a block going into a BelAir or a Corvette? With side mount motor mounts starting in 1958, it tells me a correct 283 for a 1957 BelAir could also be a difficult find.

Thank you

Loren
