I am assuming you are going through a broker. I'd also assume you are fighting the snow bird migration to the south. It causes enough delays. Recent changes in CDL compliance is not helping with the population of truck drivers

Yes, Tim. But I have a local guy that can do it but he needs something round trip to justify it. I might have to fly in and U-Haul it back! Didn’t think about the snow bird aspect I’d things. That would explain some of it.

Yep, ~2600 miles R/T for me and 1600 of that deadhead. Fuel alone would be ~$1,000.
My schedule wouldn't let me leave until Sunday and be home late Wednesday morning to leave again Thursday night to drive 400 miles to Rosemont to help with Vintage Cert Friday/Saturday, then return 400 miles home on Sunday. That would make for a very long, busy week. I used to pound out that 3,400 miles in 5 days, running OTR but that was 18 years ago. The brain says I'm still 40, but the body disagrees....
