My dad(younger baby boomer) and I talk about this often. In the next 10 years or so you’re going to see a huge number of cars and parts for sale as that generation ages out of the market. The youngest baby boomer is now 61 years old. A majority are now in their 70’s. Eventually whether stuff gets sold to pay bills or in an estate sale, you’re going to see a huge uptick of stuff hit the market. Where the prices go is anyone’s guess.
While Hemi’s, COPO’, SCJ Fords, and the like will always have value, I do personally see a future where the prices drop substantially due to their prime market having to sell stuff to afford a nice retirement home in Florida. Hell just today Parker of Backyard Barnfinds posted a video I’m involved in of a missing(aka not on the registry) Super Stock AMX the guy bought new. He’s now 84 and looking to sell it, though I will withhold my opinion on the price. There’s a lot of cool stuff still hidden in garages all over the country. And we’re nearing the point where there’s going to be a huge turnover in the market due to demographics.
