I moved off of the yellow 67 to catch up with the 62. All around great guy Bill Wente hooked me up with an oil filter canister for the car. A little soak in Evaporust is just what the doctor ordered here. In addition, my Dad of all people that came up with the distributor cap. Furthermore, I diagnosed the inop radio to an open circuit in the antenna cable. I've got one of those on the way. I've been driving this thing all over the place! Then I gave it to my Dad for a few days, and had to pry it out of his hands just to work on it a little more. The clutch and transmission are awesome! That's all for now |

Is this car already destined for CA... Tim, how did you diagnose an open circuit in the antenna ? Just an ohm check for continuity ?

Exactly. Everything in the radio seems to operate properly (by what I can tell so far) as does the speaker. It has continuity on the ground side of the cable, but not what I'll call the "conductive" side (center). It has a cheesey repair prior I will also add.

Sorry Charlie, my Dad beat you to it. I kinda figured that would be the case. A deal was had when we found the bottom of a box of beer The upside of that deal (for me), is I took a KILLER KILLER 67 L79 Corvette in trade from him. More on that later..... |

and OPEN... Yeah, an obviously inferior repair in the area of something not operating properly is the first place to look.
