			Hi All,

I rummaged through as many threads as I could over the past few days - and cant find the answer to my question - what is the correct color for the following 4 parts on my '68 L78 Nova resto? 1) Finned front brake drums - i've seen black and natural/cast iron grey on finished cars - but I have no idea what is factory. 2) Rear end - I always thought the diff and rear axles were black, I didn't even think twice about it to be honest. But I've seen a few restorations here on 68's that the owners finished the axle and diff in grey. 3) Leaf springs - same as above - I always thought these were black until I saw some finished cars with natural steel type finish on them. 4) Front springs - the ones that came on my car are black and still have the paper part number stickers on them - but may have been sprayed as I have seen L78 Camaro resto pictures with cast/natural grey finishes. Apologies if these things have been discussed a thousand times elsewhere and I didn't find the thread if it already existed. Anyone know what is correct for a proper restoration and can restore my sanity? |

All rear axles were coated with glossy black paint after assembly. The pb cables may have light overspray at the backing plates. Circumference of the brake drums was painted; the front varies in coverage. Brake lines were not installed.

As there was no prep, the paint quickly lost adhesion.
