Hi all, I've been looking at used 2022 and 2023 Yukon Xls for personal use. I've been limiting my search for low mile ones in any color other than black, white, or silver. I wanted to know your experience with these models good and bad. They are 5.3L 4wd if that makes a difference. Thank you very much!!

I have a 2021 Tahoe, 5.3L, essentially the same thing you're looking for. It has been a wonderful vehicle, with no issues at all. Ordered it new and took delivery in October 2020, and now has a little over 24K miles.

I like the drivetrain. The 5.3 / 8 speed auto has been a good unit. The AFM issues are well documented (media and internet hype) but have not see a hint of it. I've had the 6.2 previously as well, and have no complaints.
For years I have had Tracey in a full size GM (SUV or truck) and I still like the unit(s). Hope that helps shed a bit of light on your question. |

I have owned quite of few GM SUVs.Our latest are a 2019 Escalade and a 2020 Tahoe. All have had AFM.A friend who was a service manager told me years ago to change the oil and filter at 3000 instead of GMs recommend. The AFM I understand is controlled with the lifters and good clean oil will help them work as intended. So far so good for all that we have owned.FWIW,Tom

I love the XL. It can haul 8' long material, or haul a whole family, or clean up nice for a date, or pull a trailer. Really a swiss army knife vehicle.
I've been in them since 2002 as my DD. Only issue I don't care for on my 2019 is that when you hit a parking lot entrance that is a big elevation change or gutter at a anything other than straight on, the top heavy body rolls back and forth like a wallowing water buffalo. My wife even smacked her head on side window because of that. I think the newer IRS rear models might not be so bad in that area, but I actually now use extreme caution when approaching these conditions. |

I had a 2003 Yukon XL with Quadrasteer,an amazing vehicle. I now have a 2021 Suburban High Country with the 6.2. I miss the 3/4 version but quite like the independent suspension on the new chassis.
The 6.2 is 100 more HP than my 03 6.0 and tows much better. At 36,000 miles it still has 55% front brakes left and 75% rear. I did have lifter failure at 12,000 miles while on a driving trip to Palm Springs. I was amazed at the onboard diagnostics of On Star.

Thanks again everyone for your replies. I found one at a dealer in New York and after negotiating a price and getting transport quotes, I called them and offered $250 less then they wanted and to go ahead with the deal and they texted me back 1 hour later and said it was sold to someone else. Really kinda ticked me off, but what can you do. The search continues...
