Default Sagging sun visor

My right side visor sags down about half way and won’t stay up. Pulled it apart and it has some tape looking stuff around the rod. What is that? Looks like double sided tape.
What’s the fix to make it stay up?

Thanks,

Pretty sure there should be a nylon sleeve there.

It’s there in one of the pictures. That’s not where it’s giving it’s where the rod goes into the visor.

There should be a metal sleeve in the visor to pinch the rod enough to hold it in place. You may need to carefully compress the sleeve together more to get the friction needed.

I see the sleeve thing inside the visor , I had thought about squeezing it somehow without damaging the visor material. Channel locks with rags between the jaws might work.

Thanks all,

^^^^^. I used a piece of card stock to protect the visor and regular pliers to pinch the metal sleeve just eve so lightly. Worked perfect
