Default '70 Coronet R/T convertible on BaT

I don't know the car personally, but a friend whose opinion I trust has known the car and the family it is in for a long time. Rarely seen car, even when new. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...ge-coronet-17/

Very nice, but I'd like it a whole lot more if it was a 69.

Sold for $71.5k, or right around $75k w/bid fee. I think this is the type of car that BaT gets a good result from with their slower paced, week long auctions. This same car was tried at Mecum exactly 5 years ago and it was a no sale at $50k. The market has changed a bit since March 2020 (did something happen?), but a patina’d green survivor can definitely wither under the bright lights of Mecum and BJ and not get a good result. There are always exceptions, but I think this was the right venue for this car.

That was a very nice car from my view. I am not a giant fan of 70 B bodies, but always a sucker for survivors.
