Hard to tell on the stamp, is it an L changed to an E

I don't know about the stamp, but all of the internal parts are wrong.

I believe there were certain dates that are known for the BE rear ends. Does the date on this one line up with the known dates?

From my experience ( which is limited) . Some original BE rears actually look like BL rears that have been restamped.

Some here have better idea of known dates. If it is a known date, thst would help, but without real good documentation or history or correct internals, tough to document 100%.
If real, probably a fair price for someone that needs it. But will probably cost another 5k to restore correctly.

It is not a known date for a legit BE axle.
