The factory back story is fascinating. The massive GM reorganization that moved assembly operations away from the GMAD production model meant that the "F" became the responsibility of Chevrolet-Pontiac-Canada Group (CPC)
The success of the IROC program as a commemorative trim package for the street gave GM Canada operations ideas about a factory race series similar to the T/A from the late 1960's except following an IROC like model for single MFG style usage and the twist was to build the cars ready to race in the factory. Thus the players challenge Gen 3 factory stock race cars were built, all with direct factory support from the assembly line to the to the race track. The guy with the stoker hat on the left is Norwood Plant manager Herb Stone. The early Camaro's were IROC's. The early Firebirds were Trans-Am's |

IIRC they were set up as 1LE's with fuel tank baffles, aluminum driveshafts, the vette front brakes and were not available with AC or Ttops - there were also 1LE's built which were not destined for the player series races.

The Canadian Players cars were designated 1LE R7U. They had power steering coolers as well. I did the graphics on this car for 3 seasons as a sponsor. It has been restored to season 1 graphics.

Yep, got that one already, seems the 92 Trans Am window sticker, canadian very tough to find. GM Heritage Invoice show Invoice pricing rather than retail plus not sure if in US dollars or Canadian. Canadian window stickers whole different animal !!!
Thanks, Paul

No pricing on the GM of Canada paperwork, only options, dealer and date.
