I am no expert but I do have a fairly extensive database. The photo is not the best but to answer your question, I have issues. In one photo it appears to show 79L778481 while the second photo appears to show 70L778481. Obviously 10L178481 would be the actual correct VIN and likely just the angle and lighting that make it appear differently. I have several Van Nuys stampings in my database from inspections and submissions, and have several with larger than the other stamps of L, 5 and 7's. This seems to be somewhat common. However, I have never seen a 4 like the sample you show. I do not like this stamping from what I am seeing. I am sure Chris White can add even more to this discussion.
