Default JACK HEAD - NOS - Chevrolet license plate frames - Alhambra California

WOW! Is the only way to describe these treasures IMHO.

I have these two license plate frames available here from the famed Jack Head Chevrolet / Chevy / Chev dealership that was in Alhambra California.

These are super rare in nearly any condition, never mind GREAT condition as these are. The story was that the buyer of a new 1969 Camaro received these with his new purchase in the trunk of the car and, apparently, never installed them.

They show no witness marks on the bolt holes that I can see and these frames are as mint as you expect ones that have been kept wrapped up and forgotten for the last 55 years or so...

I don't hesitate to call these NOS / they are as good as New Old Stock (for these frames) that you're likely to find...

This dealer was apparently well connected in the Chevrolet High Performance world and sold many HiPo cars as I understand, including many Corvettes, Chevelles, Camaros including:

Many SS cars, SS350 SS396 427 L-72 L-71 L-89 LT-1 and even a new ZL-1 fuelie cars, COPOs and maybe some 454 LS6 cars. Z-16 and Z28 / Z/28 Camaros too.

This dealer was only around for about seven years as I understand it, but, fortunately, at the height of the Musclecar era, I don't think the survival rate of these frames in pristine condition is very high, I've never even seen modern photos of any this nice!

The only caveat with these is one has a slight wow on the top corner, as I've tried to show in the last photos.

These belong on a very high end car or in a significant collection.

I would guess that these are nearly unique - condition wise, for a pair for sale anyway.

Many, many photos below to convey their superior condition.

These are genuine vintage and were acquired from the original owner and I do not believe these are reproduced, these are as genuine as leather.

They are nearly perfect and I would grade them gem mint uncirculated.

Cast and produced by the famed manufacturer Robert W. Brown & Co. of Downey, Calif.

Just look at the white lettering and the brilliant blue background paint with the original and correct overspray like they were made yesterday... the flashing is still on the back even!

These are rare in any condition and unobtainium in near mint state.

Original finishes always look different (and correct) than restored... IMO

There are more well known dealerships and rarer plate frames, sure, but these are NICE!

Take a look at the photos again.

Cheers everyone!
Anthony
