Default Kansas 1969 ss396/375 4 speed short block

I just bought a 69 ss396/375 horse 4 speed short block(JD code) that has a Kansas vin number on it.
Its .030 but cylinder walls look awesome. 4 bolt steel crank. I did buy it for my kansas built 69 but if the car it belongs to is still out there I would be willing to work with the owner to get it back to its original car. It is not for sale even to the original owner but will trade it for a big block for my car.
The vin number is 19k402019

Default Searching for L78 396

I stumbled upon this older add from 2007 for a 396-375HP L78 engine. I have attached the add to the post. Turns out this is the original engine for the Chevelle that I have owned for about 30 years. The engine was gone when I purchased the car. The T0310JD B362705 match the numbers on my build sheet exactly. The gentleman that posted the add no longer has possession of the engine nor does he have any information about the buyer. If anyone has any information on this engine, please contact me at 724-272-1162. I think the seller lived in Ohio when the engine was sold. I would love to return this engine back to where it started life. Thank you very much. I appreciate any help!

Well this one dragged me down the research rabbit hole on Saturday. From what I can tell, at the very least, it's from a 1972 Buick Gran Sport (GS)

Highly doubt it's 1 of the 4 GSX with a 4-speed in '72.

Only 7% of GS cars in '72 were 4-speeds. (8,575 total)
