Default 427 shp lx code and Cy 400 transmission

You don't see these very often. 1969 l71 with high upshift 400 transmission.

I bought it. L-71 engine, CY trans and 6 bolt convertor. still bolted together. fuel pump, water pump and starter still attached.

The CY transmission was redesigned for the 50 Fred Gibb Novas. on July 12, 1968, a dealers bulletin was published concerning these transmissions with higher shift points and reinforced convertors for the torque and rpm's of solid lifter engines. The Novas were built the first 2 weeks of July, 1968. In showing of the transmission tag on this combination, the tag reveals a low serial number. Wondering what the 840 heads dates are?

December 17,1968 looks to be the Trans assembly date.Makes sense for a Feb 7th,1969 engine assembly date.
