Barrett Jackson Description

This magnificent 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Convertible is the ultimate restomod C1 with a GM Performance LS3 V8, 4L65 automatic transmission and Art Morrison GT Sport chassis. It was built by classic Corvette specialists Loomis Automotive located in Oklahoma City, OK. Loomis Automotive has been in business since 1900 and have known about this car for many years because it was a locally owned by Ray Peters. The car originally had a white exterior with a black interior. Tons of receipts from ranging from 1983 through 2012 are included. The car was a product of 4-year build that started in 2017 and was finished in 2021. Since completion it been driven 300 test miles. The vision of this build was to design a C1 that would be easy on the eyes and also extremely user-friendly. With an open checkbook the mission was accomplished. Everything on this car was restored or replaced with great attention to detail. The exterior was tastefully designed incorporating a 1958 Corvette chrome front grill and headlight bezels along with chrome side spears. The body is laser straight with excellent gap lines throughout. It was re-finished in a beautiful shade of white which dresses it well. The original hard top was painted to match and a hard top stand is included. The paint work was performed to high show quality standards. It was outfitted with a new black Stayfast cloth top. It's equipped with modern Octane Lighting LED Red Halo parking lights, Oracle headlight bulbs and LED tail lights. The car rolls on EVOD ACC Classic hub cap polished 18” wheels with spinner center caps that are engraved with 1962 cross flags. As documented the wheels alone were 9,318.00. The car grips the pavement with Diamond Back Classic Redline tires. The interior was also tastefully designed keeping the original factory appearance with subtle enhancements. The gorgeous Al Knock black leather interior includes the hard top molded headliner, visors, dash pad, grab bar, kick panels, door panels, arm rests and Corvette embossed bucket seats with AOK seat tracks. Some interior custom features include Dakota Digital VHX black face gauges, Antique Automotive Radio with AM/FM/Bluetooth and Alpine amplifier, Ididit tilt steering column, 3-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel, modern seat belts, Lokar pedals, folding cup holders and Daytona carpeting. The trunk compartment was boxed and upholstered with black leather material. It has a charging cord for storage. The painted engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. It has a new complete American Autowire wiring harness. The car is powered by a new connect and cruise GM Performance 6.2L LS3 rated with 430HP. The engine was outfitted with a Hooker black textured oil pan, black and red valve covers, silver air intake tube, Billet Specialties Tru Trac pulley system and power steering reservoir, chrome alternator and Powermaster Performance starter. The engine is cooled by a Dewitts aluminum radiator with chrome fan shroud, SPAL electric fan, black billet coolant overfill canister and cross flags engraved radiator cap. The engine breathes through Ultimate headers and a completely polished dual exhaust system with Mangflow mufflers. The exhaust was fabricated to go over the chassis and bend downward so it would be hidden. The engine is coupled to a new GM Performance 4L65 automatic transmission with Lokar shifter. The power is transferred to the gray powder coated 9” rear end housing with 31 Spline Strange axles, Dana 1350 Yoke and 3.70 gears. The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. It's equipped with an Art Morrison GT Sport chassis that was powder coated silver. It's equipped with power rack and pinion steering, polished suspension with coil overs and PAC Racing springs and Wilwood four wheel disc brakes. This car has been completely serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that's included. This is the first time it's been marketed for sale. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
