I know its a very old post and golfer has not been on here since 2018 but just in case, Chad and I looked at this L78 convert about 16 years ago in Kansas City. It has since been restored and I believe sold as original drivetrain which the engine was not though if I recall the original transmission and rear were still in the car. Regardless, it almost has to be the same car considering the rarity and location.

Is this that car after it was restored? These pictures are from Mecum Indy in '09. I don't have the VIN but this was advertised as an original L78 4 speed convertible with a numbers matching drivetrain. It is an 11B car with a Kansas City body number of 283332.

Could very well be. If I recall it did have a buildsheet. Unfortunately I did not bother to photograph the cowl tag or buildsheet let alone write the VIN down. Stupid me.

How about this one? It has Rick's plate on it. I saw this in a museum/ collection in Decatur IL on Oct. 30 2021. Note: this car has washer fluid monitor and the car mrays posted does not. This also a non cowl induction car like the one Rick posted.
