Default 1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille w/ 35,868 original miles - Two Owner Survivor

1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille w/ 35,868 original miles - Two Owner Survivor

Selling with NO RESERVE on Bring a Trailer.

“Although most of my classic vehicles have been restored to show quality condition, over the years I’ve offered a few selective documented low mileage original survivors with limited ownership history. They’ve all drawn a ton of attention and commanded a strong value. For reference, these vehicles can be found on our website sold page. This 1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille falls into that category. It’s an amazing documented two owner survivor with only 35,868 original miles. It retains its 100% of its original Diplomat Blue paint which is complemented with its original white Vinyl Top and original white and blue leather interior. This color combination is to die for! Our service manager Michael Marsella drove this car over 160 miles back from New York after we purchased it. He said, “It was like driving a new car.” This is a great opportunity to purchase a 50 year old classic Caddy that’s selling with NO RESERVE!” – Marc Schiliro

This amazing 1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille only has 35,868 original miles and is a documented two owner survivor. 1973 was a good year to be in the automobile business, as the US automobile industry broke all previous production and sales records with Cadillac shattering production records it had set just the year before. In 1973, the Coupe DeVille overtook the Sedan DeVille as Cadillac’s most popular model which made the Coupe DeVille the world’s most popular luxury car. This example was purchased at James Cadillac Company located in New Haven, Connecticut. It was purchased on June 27th, 1973 by Allen M. Lawrence c/o Guilford Auto Sales located in Guilford, Connecticut. This information is fully documented on the original New Vehicle Warranty booklet which is included. Allen opened Guilford Auto Sales in 1946 and purchased this car for his wife Karen K. Lawrence. It made sense to put the car in his used automotive business name for multiple reasons. In 1980, Allen decided to retire and got a new title in Karen’s name which was issued on November 6th, 1980. This information is fully documented on the original title which is included. This car was Karen’s prized possession and she only used it sparingly. It was always treated with the best of care and garaged its entire life. Unfortunately, Karen passed in 2012. Allen and his children decided it made sense to sell the car. On August 27th, 2015 they sold the car to Michael J. Lobalbo who at the time lived in Stamford, Connecticut. As indicated on the title the car had 34,189 miles at the time of the sale. Michael understood the significance of this car and also treated it with the best of care. During Mike’s time of ownership he completed some routine service work and drove it on special occasions. Mike decided to sell the car after 8 years of ownership. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car in April of 2023 with 35,679 original miles.

The exterior of this car is in excellent original condition throughout. It was properly stored over the last 50 years which is evident with the condition. It retains 100% of its original Diplomat Blue paint which was electronically paint metered by MS CLASSIC CARS. This color is absolutely beautiful especially in direct sunlight. The paint was recently detailed to a show quality shine. The paint only has a few minor imperfections such as some small chips that were touched up on the front end. The car sports its original white vinyl top which is in excellent condition and a white pinstripe which highlights the bodyline. The blue and white colors are very complementary. It retains its entire original factory stamped glass which is in excellent condition. Everything on the exterior is in excellent condition such the glass trim, Cadillac etched mirrors, front grill, lights, front bumper, door and quarter trim, fender trim, side molding, rear tail lights, rear bumper and emblems. The car sits on the original 15” steel wheels with hub caps. The wheels are wrapped with Dimension IV Whitewall 235-75-15 tires. Everything on the exterior is in working order such as the power antenna and all lights.

The interior of this car is also in excellent original condition throughout. It truly appears factory fresh in appearance from top to bottom. It also smells very fresh which a reflection of how it was stored. The white headliner is still tight and the sun visors stay up. The blue dash pad is dressed with simulated wood trim which looks rich. The blue steering wheel is wrapped with a steering wheel cover and hasn’t be removed in years for obvious reasons. The white door panels with grab handles were also dressed with simulated wood trim on the top and carpeting on the bottom. The driver’s door has wiper controls, power mirror controls, power locks and power windows. The passenger door has power locks and power windows. The front bench seat and rear seat is upholstered in white leather which is in excellent condition with very little signs of wear. The front seat is power operated. The blue seat belts and carpeting matches the dash perfectly. It retains the original rubber floor mats which have faded over the last 50 years so they weren’t used for the interior photos. Everything in the interior is in working order such as the radio, cruise control and air conditioning with exception of the clock. Yes, the factory air conditioning blows cold! The trunk compartment is also in excellent original condition throughout. The crisp carpeting is outfitted with the factory rubber trunk mat. It’s equipped with the original Goodyear L78- 15 whitewall spare and jack tools.

The engine compartment is in original condition throughout and very clean. There has been no paint work or restoration work performed in this engine bay. The car is powered by the original 472 V8 which was factory rated with 345hp. This engine has never been out of the car and runs excellent. The original blue paint on the engine and valve covers has the perfect amount of patina. The black air cleaner houses the Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrell carburetor. It still retains the factory stickers on the radiator support. The variable-ratio power steering works great. The engine breathes through the original factory manifolds and single exhaust system. The engine is coupled to the original Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission which shifts very smoothly.

The undercarriage is also in original condition throughout and very clean. The underside was uncoated when it was new to prevent rust. It still retains factory paint markings on the rear end housing, driveshaft and some suspension components. Over the years the shocks and some bushings were replaced.
