So many memories at Wallace, Frankie Johansen in sales, Doug Pitchell doing performance tunes, Yenkos, COPOs, L78 Novas, etc.
Would love to hear some of your experiences while working at Wallace. It was an amazing time and you were very fortunate to have been there!

Welcome back!

Thank you Steve.

Well on the Yenko Deuces first one I saw at work one morning was I think a red one. Parked behind the body shop next to the wrecked cars!

So, Wallace Bronfman, the owner, did not like the performance stuff. Had two young sons who worked there. Elliott who was the business minded one. Carl was the goofy one, just wanted to drive fast Chevys.

Carl ordered the Deuces, told the delivery truck driver to stick them back in the junk lot so his father would hopefully not notice them. Father always telling Carl "nobody's gonna buy a $5,000 Camaro or Chevy Nova!"

Funny stuff. That's kinda how the performance stuff worked until Frankie Johansen talked Wallace into sponsoring the drag Camaro. Later Wallace went along to a certain degree, just wanted to sell regular family cars.

Doug

Default Yenko Deuce experience

I remember going to Konner Chevrolet on East Main in Columbus Ohio and looking at 3 new Yenko Deuces, i dont remember the colors anymore but 3 different colors. I had a 70 SS350 4 speed Nova at that time
