We honeymooned there 38 years ago and were planning on going back for our 40th. This is so terrible I can't even imagine what some of the family's and businesses are going through. God bless them.

I am heartbroken, my favorite community in HI. Prayers and sympathies for those who are enduring this tragedy. - Bill W

my brother got a hold of me and said they had to evacuate and then were able to return only to have to leave again. said the historic tree downtown he heard had perished. cant remember but seems like it was over 150 years old. i remember having to stand by it as a teenager and have my picture taken.

This horrifying tragedy in the beautiful Lahaina is unthinkable.
Me and my wife are devastated by the lives taken by this event along with all the homes, belongings and businesses that don’t exist any longer.

We vacationed in Maui in 2018 and spent most of a day in the historic Lahaina having lunch and shopping.
I have my coffee every morning with this “Bad Ass Coffee” cup which I bought at their front street location.
We checked out that 100+ year old Banyan tree also.

I hurt for these people and this town.
Give them strength Lord.
