1968 RS lower body blackout extends into the door jamb. 1967 does not.

So I'm not completely loosing it, and have seen it that way. Just went searching and I see the spear was chopped into 3 pieces and moved up to follow the body line, where the '67 rs has the wide polished panel over the entire area above the spear.
