The behind the scene shots of all the rigging is pretty cool. The stuff they bolted to those cars is just crazy. The camera man in the trunk of the Charger must have been holding on for dear life.

These effects were done the hard way, which makes it amazing that they pulled it off. Todays computerized special effects are amazing, but many times they go too far and are not believable.

And if you notice, the shot of them hitting the gas pumps was a 'retake'.
If you watch the original movie, there is a stutter where they had to insert the good take. They missed the pumps on the first go around.. Old news if you have followed it
